Parents play an important role in teaching young children about books. One of my Moms noted her daughter, Chloe, a curly-haired 27 month old, appeared to have little interest in books until we started using them in our home visits. Mom now mentions that Chloe brings books to her at least once a day asking her to read! While mom and I discussed Chloe's new found interest, Chloe left the room and returned with a book, gave it to mom and signaled for her to read it. Mom read and Chloe asked for another book!!
