Happy Birthday!!! :-)

All of the families that I have the privilege of working with, feel like they are part of my own family. Since I am in the homes once a week I create a true bond with the children and parents. I learn their routines, when special events will take place, and of course when birthdays occur. While I know this information about my families, they have begun to learn about my life too. My birthday was a few weeks ago, and honestly, I had not told any of my families. So, imagine my surprise when one of my families opened the door when I arrived and had a party waiting for me! The mom had a cake with a candle lit, balloons,and a basket with a teddy bear & candy inside. I could not believe my eyes! I was so surprised and overwhelmed with the generosity of the family that I actually cried tears of joy. This family has very little yet they wanted to honor me on my special day. I will never forget this birthday. Oh! I almost forgot...I heard that a little bird told them it was my birthday. Thanks little bird! :-) ~~~CS
