A Legacy of Love

Mom and I were doing the batting lesson with two month old S. when his 10 year old sister came and sat down on the floor beside us. Mom was dangling the toy and cooing with S. as he smiled in delight, cooing at her and reaching toward the toy. Mom later turned toward me and asked me a question. While Mom and I talked for a moment, the sister began dangling the toy and cooing to S., "Haakooo, Haakoo" she said in an exact imitation of the tone and intonation of Mom. I tapped Mom and directed her attention to her daughter. Mom had not just been building attachment with her son. She had been a beautiful role model to her daughter who was learning a legacy of love which she would pass down to future generations.
