Patterns

During a home visit this month, I introduced little P to patterns, Mom guided her child to string the beads and make different patterns. Mom spoke with little P about the different shapes and colors of the beads. They both enjoyed this activity very much. We also had a cutting activity with paper so that little P could practice cutting with scissors. During the reading time, Mom read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" she picked up the scraps of paper from little P's cutting activity and made a caterpillar on the floor for little P to see and he was amazed at what Mom made. It was so wonderful to see this Mom interact and guide her child through exploration, imagination and learning.
