Patience and problem solving go together
I see a precious little girl named Lauren. She lives with her Grandmother named Lauretta. I got to watch a wonderful problem solving experience between the two. Lauren had a brightly colored gift bag filled with an assortment of toys. She had taken them in and out of the bag several times to show them to me. Later, the handle of the bag got tangled on Lauren's leg. She tried a few times to free herself. Lauretta would say, "Think it through Lauren, you can do it." Lauren sat down on the floor and tried to remove the bag. Lauretta again softly said,"Think it through Lauren, you can do it." What a joy it was to then watch Lauren remove her shoes and pull the bag off her foot. No tears, no tantrums, just patience and problem solving working together. Toni
