Happy Birthday

A special little boy named Sammy turned three this week. His mother wanted to make sure that he had a fun and memorable birthday so she planned a birthday party during our regular weekly visit. Margarita, Sammy's mother, was very excited about the small celebration, as was Sammy. When we arrived one of the balloons that Daniabelle and I had brought flew out of the car and Sammy came running out of thier apartment telling Daniabelle about the balloon that he had seen flying away. Margarita had prepared their home, decorating for the party and preparing a lemon pie, cupcakes, cookies, and Kool-aid- all just for us! It was so heartwarming that in difficult circumstances she was able to put that all aside and make the day so special for Samuel (Dad is out of the state for work, and Mom is worried about the possiblity of moving her family). Sammy was so excited he could hardly contain himself, talking non-stop about the balloons, the food, and the fact that "today, Daniabelle and I had come just for him because it was HIS special day". The experience was wonderful, the family was so happy in spite of all the hardships they have encountered.
