During a recent bubble blowing visit with 23 month old KoKo I learned that sometimes the kiddos we see make it quite obvious when they are overstimulated. I was using parallel talk with KoKo where I describe the activities she is doing in order to help her with language acquistion and production. After rambling on for 10 minutes about how well KoKo was doing with blowing the bubbles, she turned to me with the sweetest look on her face, placed her index finger to her lips and promptly "shhushed" me. I guess KoKo was done with parallel talk for the day! It is so fun when the kiddos personalities come out!
