During a second visit with a 35 month old precious little boy, Dad came home from work and asked his son, "Are you playing with your teacher?" The little boy thought about it for a moment and said, "No, this is my wife!" He then proceeded to tell mom that she needed to go and get his bike so he could give it to me so I could have something to drive home. Both parents and I laughed until tears came. Later, at a group socialization, mom prepared her son to leave for the evening. My new husband looked at mom and said, "Don't forget to bring my wife with us" while pointing at me. He told mom I could stay the night and have his bed...he would sleep on the floor! It is so wonderful building great relationships with these kiddos and watching them grow in their social-emotional development! I only have one small request...please don't tell my husband about my new spouse!
