We did our homework!

For each home visit, parents are given a follow-up activity that is a continuation of the activity presented during the lesson. Parents are to complete the follow-up activity throughout the following week and then discuss what they observed their child doing with the Parent Educator at the next home visit. During our last visit, mom and child made a 'paper bag road' using a paper bag for the the background and drew a road and community for the scene. When I came for our next visit, I asked mom what she observed during the follow-up activity. Mom and child left the room for a moment and brought back a poster board with a road and community drawn on it and mom stated they had been playing driving his cars on the board. Mom was praised for not only completing the activity but going above and beyond to play with her child!
