In most homes there are older siblings, cousins, or friends who want so much to be included, and I like to let them model activities when appropriate. One little boy was sorting the counting bears into different colored cups. Soon his two year old sister began to imitate him and sort by colors as well. He beamed when I told him that he was teaching his sister her colors. I said that I also appreciated the job he was doing sharing. He looked up with bright eyes and said, "That is because I am such a nice person!"
