I admire people who choose to pass down positive traditions that they themselves were not raised with. This month, I met one mom who said that because of this program, she now has a routine of reading aloud to her children although no one read to her when she was growing up. In another home, the parents said that they make a point of hugging their children and telling them they love them because they missed receiving that from their own parents. In both cases I told the families that they are not only impacting their own children, but also creating a new, positive legacy for their grandchildren.
