On a first visit, it is exciting to get to know a new baby and his or her family, and you never know what to expect. On one recent first visit I got to know a ten month old baby girl and her mother. Taliyah was formerly visited by a different educator, so instead of having to review the program and its requirements, we just got to get to know each other and play. While I was there Taliyah took her first walk across the living room floor, jabbered up a storm, and turned the pages of a board book for the first time. The mom was so excited she almost started to tear up. We were busy visiting about these amazing milestones when Taliyah picked up a small stuffed birdie that I had brought, and started walking across the room flapping her arms for balance. Mom and I started to talk to her in tweets and chirps and she giggled and attempted to respond in kind. This was such a fun and exciting meeting, one that I will not soon forget.
