"Hello"

Last month I visited a thirteen month old who initiated a game of peek-a-boo behind the couch. As he peeked out, I would say, "hello". Soon he began repeating "hello" - a new word for him. Mom and I laughed, but we laughed even more when at the next visit he began the game again - immediately saying "hello" with every peek from behind the couch. At some point during every visit since, he will initiate the game. Mom and I enjoy watching his developing memory, language, and social skills.
