Often we get the privilege of introducing children to fun activities that will likely become a regular part of their childhood. This month I have brought play dough to two visits where this was their very first experience. The children were amazed, a bit apprehensive at first, but then dig in with their fingers practicing those all important fine motor skills. Parents are excited to watch their children explore- one mom commented that she had not thought of play dough since she was a child. At another visit we took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather and played outside with bubbles. While practicing the art of blowing her eyes were filled with excitement and wonder about the bubbles magical properties. She ran after them and attempted to catch them, then startle in shock when she saw the bubble pop for the first time. There are smiles, shrieks of laughter, and an overall look of amazement that occurs only that first time you experience something... I hope I remember my camera next time!
