Progress

The families that I have been visiting for almost two years have made so much progress. When I first started one mother was staying at home with no job, experience, and little education. It is so exciting to see her progress into the woman she is today, a confident woman working full time, and going to school at night to earn her bachelors degree, after already completing an associates. In two years time another family that I visit has gone from using government housing assistance to now completing a first time home buyers program and shopping for a place of their own. A third family started our program with a mother who was not confident, anxious, isolated, and with a lot of questions. Now she has a large group of friends (thanks to the bimonthly socializations), is confident in her parenting skills, and although she still has many questions, she is far less anxious. It is so wonderful to watch the families become empowered.
