At every visit we are discussing the language, social, motor, and intellectual development of the children we see. We ask parents about their observations during the visit as well as what they have been seeing since the last visit. Through this process, the parents become keen observers of their children. At a recent visit a mom was excited to share with me that just this week her son had begun putting on his shoes and saying his name. I think these observation skills are something the parents will continue to use long after their time in our program.
