"Feeling Accepted"

When firt visiting a new area of our school district for home visits, sometimes I get looks of concern, as if to say "who is this lady, and what does she want?" I have been visiting MG for a few months now, and those looks of possible concern have now turned to smiles of acceptance and gratitude!
When recenty walking up to the apartment of MG for a home visit, I was met with several children and their parents sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather. I was instantly recognized, and several of the children came rushing up with hugs for me. Their little voices all asking "are you coming to my house, teacher?" They were very excited! Their parents' faces as well conveyed their happiness to see me. In the months that I have been coming to this apartment complex, I am now recognized as someone coming to help families....I am accepted...and appreciated!
