This month our social theme was musical melodies. Through our weekly group meetings we taught our parents why music is so important to every child's development in areas of intellect, socio-emotional, motor and language.
Our 72 families were the lucky recipients of 72 egg shakers courtesy of our dear friends at Kinder Music. We also made a musical instrument (maracas) with water bottles, colorful pasta, confetti, and colored tape. Each child was able to color a song book and bring it home. They also were able to pretend they were in a band with the instruments that we have in our social room. We sang songs and read stories, and received a free book from the library. They were all great activities.
All the kids and parents loved the activities and each social. What a great month. Sounds like music to my ears!
