While visiting one of my new families, I noticed once again how useful the Home-Based program is for parents. In times where almost all toys are electronic and expensive, this new Mom was so excited to learn more about home-made toys.
The activity for the home visit that day was "clothespins in a bottle". Mom was able to see how the activity works with eye-hand coordination and the value of repetition. Mom is very interested in learning more and to have the opportunity to teach her baby with simple activities made from household items. This was also a valuable time to teach the family about recycling.
