Parent To Parent

On a recent visit with MG, I was very happy to learn his Mom had shared information about our program with a neighbor who lived in the same apartment complex, and had a child of the same age as MG. Mom had been sharing the developmental and parenting hand-outs that I had been bringing each week with her neighbor. On this particular visit, the neighbor was sitting on the couch when I walked in. She wanted to take the step further and be enrolled in the program, and be receiving our program services herself. MG's Mom was sharing with the neighbor all about the different services our program provides to families. She was very excited and informative. I listened with great pride, as this Mom was passionate and cared that her neighbor also be directly involved, and enrolled in our program. I had an enrollment packet with me, and we began the enrollment process for the neighbor right there at this visit. I have learned that our best recruitment tool is parents sharing with other parents. This was a fine example of this, and I was very thankful to MG's Mom that she was so pleased with our program, and cared so much for her neighbor to also be enrolled.
