Little R. had a vocabulary of only a few words at his second birthday. Our program referred him to Sooner Start to provide extra assistance in language development. During my visits, I make an emphasis on activities that promote language learning. Mom has been working hard to talk, read, and sing to R. throughout the day. R. has a new baby brother. Last week he walked up to his brother while mom was holding him. He touched his brother's bare feet and said, "Baby - no shoes." Mom beamed and said, "That's right! The baby has no shoes!" I was so happy to hear him at this new stage of combining words.
