I am Listening

During a visit to Karina's home, mom mentioned how much Karina's language is developing. Mom noted that when Karina speaks she cannot tell if Karina is trying to speak in English or Spanish. When asked how she encourages Karina's language development mom told a story: One day, while mom sat on the couch, Karina climbed up onto the sofa and sat down next to her. Karina began 'talking' to her. This went on for several minutes until Karina looked up at her mother as if it was her turn to speak. Mom looked down at Karina and said "I don't understand what you are saying, but I am listening."
