During a recent developmental screening at a home visit, mom and I were trying to watch her 36 month old daughter complete the activities on the screening form. To our dismay, the little girl would not cooperate and played with every toy and her siblings instead. Mom struggled to help her daughter focus on each activity but each time it was to no avail! So, the older brother was included in each activity. Brother watched as mom completed each activity and then, he was asked him to complete it on his own. After big brother completed the activity, mom asked sister to complete the activity...and she did, excitedly! Mom was relieved, not only to see her daughter completing the developmental activities, but also to finish the screening.
