Mom is Empowered

M. has undoubtedly learned new parenting skills and become a better observer of her child through our home visits, but there is a by-product of this program. While becoming a better parent, M. has also learned the power of believing in herself and her own abilities. M. has been living with a man in a very dysfunctional relationship which, according to her, is bad for her self-esteem as well as for her children's. With the empowerment that comes through this program and all its resources, M. has found the strength to go out, get a job, and leave this unhealthy situation. Usually, I choose to blog about lighter topics, but I am so proud of this woman and grateful to have been a part of helping her to grow as a mother and a person. MJ
