Practice makes perfect

I will sometimes bring in an item from a previous month's visit, so parents can see how a child's development has been changing. On a recent visit, I brought a homemade shape sorter and was impressed to see how very well the child was doing. When I commented on this to mom, she went into the other room and proudly came back with a shape sorter she had made following our model. It was exciting to see her enthusiasm for the activity and the results of her child's practice.
