Our program not only delivers the educational component, but the family support component as well. This is evident in the hard work put forth by Lily our family support specialist. We had a child with no insurance, no doctor and no medical home. After we contacted the OU bedlam clinic they allowed the child to have a doctor and medical home. When the child was taken for the well child exam they found she had a heart murmur and she needed to be seen by a specialist. Without insurance this would have been impossible for the family. After brainstorming with the parent and making a plan, Lily accompanied the parent to DHS and the insurance was reinstated. The family was grateful for all the support given. Thank you Lily for exceeding our parents and our program expectations.
