While at a home visit this week a young man was very excited to tell me about a trip he took with his father. He began telling me about the "fish store" that he had visited, and was describing some very interesting sounding things that they did like shoot a bow and arrow, point a gun with a "light", fishing, and even "sleeping" in the store. His mother was letting him describe everything without interrupting or elaborating, so I was not sure what the young man was talking about (I thought he might be relaying a story from a book or something his dad had told him about), so I asked for more details. He was so excited to let me know about this wonderful place, and was almost frustrated that I did not know of the store. He then told me " I'm so sorry, but I wasn't watching how to get there, so I can't tell you the way!". At his urging, his mother eventually let me know that it was the store Bass Pro Shop, and not the pet store I was trying to imagine. His mother had done such a good job letting him have ownership of his story, but he eventually turned to her and asked her to help me out. He had such a magical time spending the day with his father there, and could not wait to tell me about it.
