Wet and Wild

As the teacher was leaving the home visit, JR wanted to walk out with his Mom to the car. As JR held Mom's hand, he basked in the sunshine and tromped down the sidewalk. After 3 steps, he felt something wet. He has discovered a puddle of water and thoroughly enjoyed the wet feel. Quickly, JR jumped up with two feet and stomped in the puddle. I encouraged Mom to let him discover the puddle further when he is properly dressed for the occasion. Encouraging parents to allow their child to explore their world is a positive and creative way to foster a desire to learn about new things.
