This month our socials were themed around the library and their summer reading program. My newest family was very excited and nervous to visit the library, as they had never been before. Their family immigrated here more than five years ago, but they had heard very little about the library and had not ever ventured into one. I explained all the wonderful services that the library offers, including the ability to check out books! The family was so excited to know of this new community resource. With my encouragement they attended the first social at the library for the story time, and they absolutely loved it! They immediately signed up for the summer reading program. The very next week they were back at the library enjoying another story time and checking out new books!!
